Rainy summer days

Richard Stensrud - Friday, July 01, 2016

After what seemed like endless rain delays, we have finally finished installing all the retaining walls that flank some of the trails. The last trail is along the south side of the pond and ends at the western boundary of the property. Going up the hill away from the pond leads to the fruit tree orchard that is now well established.

Our Dorper ewes have produced six of the cutest lambs that are very friendly if you look like you have food for them.

We have four Kurobuta pigs that are always hungry and can be talked in to visiting with our guests.

The swans, which grace many of the pictures of the place, are now a bonded mating pair. The male of the pair was mean-spirited when we brought the female to the farm and had to spend a few weeks in "time out" to get his mind right. He was a guard swan and patrolled the front yard as well as the pond. Now he and Daisy frolic together in the pond.

Speaking of the pond, the fishing has been great! Speaking of water, our huge in-ground salt water pool is very refreshing.
